Truth about me:

I don’t understand how people can’t acknowledge the flip side to their own beliefs or desires.

For instance, I know that I am not made for a relationship that requires me to share my Husband with another woman. I don’t even have to ponder it. That’s just how I am.

So then having that immediate and deep understanding of myself, I can look at a necklace like the one above and understand how it could mean something to someone else. Someone whose needs or desires are the opposite of my own.

Another example where this happens is with children. I always knew I wanted children. Lots of them. It was almost as if that desire was written in my DNA somewhere. Having that solid knowledge of “I want” allows me to understand someone else’s solid knowledge that they do not want. When someone tells me they don’t want children, I completly understand.

Can I relate? Yes. Because I know what it is to look inside yourself and just KNOW what is right for you. Sometimes it’s not even about making a choice. It’s just who you are.

You and I might not live the same life or make the same choices, but the thing we have in common is that we both understand ourselves and live our lives unapologetically.

I think sometimes we’re so busy looking for differences between ourselves and the people around us that we forget to see the basic similarities.
